Chilly Gonzales - Party In My Mind

After his Guinness World Record, the album and the Locarno film festival prize-winning feature filmIVORY TOWER, the single NEVER STOP chosen by Apple for their IPAD ad and the inter-planetary video hit YOU CAN DANCE with its near 1 million You Tube views, the musical genius brings us a Limited Edition of symphonic spoken word:

“THE UNSPEAKABLE CHILLY GONZALES”, the first-ever all-orchestral rap album and live show … the dramatic next step after piano-rap classics “The Grudge” and “Crying” from IVORY TOWER.

Chilly Gonzales warned us of rap with "no beats" in 2000 (The Entertainist). Since then, he created the all-piano rap mixtape “Pianist Envy” (250 000 downloads) and “Solo Piano” fan Drake hand-picked Gonzo to accompany him on stage. Today, he brings some “Gonzpiration” to the rap game. Accompanied by Hollywood swells, tympani rolls, noble French horns, hypnotizing bells and influenced by Prokofiev, Morricone and Phillip Glass among others, this record is Chilly Gonzales’ 'professional confessional', revealing more of himself on these monologues than ever before.

Accompanied live by a chamber orchestra, Chilly Gonzales will explore the idea of what a modern maestro is. The arrangements by his Hollywood film-composing brother Christophe Beck, take center stage alongside Gonzo’s eccentric personality.

Martin Gore vs Vince Clarke !

Ex-Depeche Mode bandmates Martin Gore and Vince Clarke have finished recording an all-instrumental dance record and must now mix it — but Gore warns in a new interview with Billboard.com that “even though it probably will be finished quite soon, it might not see the light of day for awhile.”
That’s because Depeche Mode is busy promoting Remixes 2: 81-11 — which features a new mix of “Behind the Wheel” by Clarke — and, for his part, Clarke is finishing a new Erasurealbum and preparing to tour Europe and North and South America this year.
In the Billboard interview, Gore talks about the genesis of the album with Clarke, which he describes as “all kind of dance and instrumental”:
“Out of the blue I got an e-mail from (Clarke) just saying, ‘I’m interested in making a techno album. Are you interested in collaborating?’ This was maybe nine months, a year ago. He said, ‘No pressure, no deadlines,’ so I said, ‘OK,’ and that’s what we’ve been doing the last six months.”
According to Gore, they “didn’t have conversations about it. It was more just like e-mails and file-sharing. It was something completely different — no vocals, all instrumental stuff.”
Although it’s not year clear when the Gore/Clarke album will emerge, Gore is starting to get back into a Depeche Mode frame of mind. He told Billboard, “I’ve started writing again — writing songs and actually writing words again. I feel like it’s coming like a breath of fresh air after a long time of not thinking about them.”

Wugazi!

Wugazi is a labor of love by Cecil Otter & Swiss Andy. A year’s worth of cutting up every imaginable Fugazi record and trying out every Wu-Tang acapella they could get their hands on, resulted in Wugazi: 13 Chambers (a must listen for anyone who even looked at a skateboard in the 90’s).
Cecil Otter is an emcee & producer, and one of the founding members of Doomtree. He has contributed to over a dozen records. His most recent full-length, Rebel Yellow, was re-released by Sage Francis for Strange Famous Records. He’s now recording his solo project, Porcelain Revolver.
Swiss Andy is a musician & producer residing in Minneapolis. He has been a contributor to several bands including The Millionth Word, Field Guide and The Swiss Army. He is currently working on a remix of Rebel Yellow.
